Bruce Matson, CAO has practiced law in Richmond, Virginia for the last 30 years, which has included creditors rights, corporate restructuring, loan workouts, and bankruptcy. He has served as a court-appointed trustee and fiduciary for many years, including serving as the liquidation trustee for LandAmerica Financial Group. Recently, Bruce served as the Chief Legal Officer for the law firm of LeClair Ryan. Bruce is recognized annually as among the “Best Lawyers in America” and among Virginia’s “Legal Elite,” as well as a “Super” Lawyer in Richmond. In 2010, he was recognized as one of the “Leaders in the Law” in Virginia.
Bruce also serves as a director of Apple Hospitality REIT (NYSE:APLE), the C.S. Lewis Institute, and the Virginia State Golf Association as well as on the community advisory boards for the Veritas School and The Bon Secours Health System. Bruce is the author of The Race Before Us: A Journey of Running & Faith, The Road to Find Out: A Modern Pilgrim and the Camino de Santiago, and a number of books on golf history.
